GAME SETUP

Create your arena

The minimum space for an arena is the length of the 'Runway' but for best results, we advise you locate your board in the centre of a bright and airy room mounting the board on a wall or surface you don't mind having a few holes in. Centering the Runway allows players to move freely during the rounds and keeps the energy in the room moving creating atmosphere and interaction between players throughout the game.

The board

TonUp™ can be played on any standard dart board. You don't have to ruin a perfectly good board but we happen to like it with the numbers removed from the outside as it removes the 'noise' from ones thinking. Your board should be set at regulation height (we had to retain some heritage…) which is 5' 8" or 1.73m from the ground.

The Runway

TonUp™ is played up and down the runway as the game progresses. Players throw from various positions marked on the runway, moving forward and backwards from the centre throw line. In homage to the toughest of holes to find the lines are referred to as Tee's on a golf course (it'll make sense and grow on you as you play)

TonUp™ Runway
SUMMER[8' 9 1/4" 2.67m]

Summer Tee's, or as it's affectionally known, 'Donna' is the toughest of throw lines. It's a lot further than it looks.

REG'S[7' 9 1/4" 2.37m]

Regulation Tee or Reg's as it's abbreviated, is the centre of the game. *Tip - Learning to play par (15 points) from here will keep you in the running for every set.

LADIES[6' 9 1/4" 2.06m]

The shortest tee on the runway (nothing sexist here it's purely for reference consistency) and possibly the most mentally challenging. What should be so simple…

Players

Everyone is welcome, all can play so in theory you can have as many players as you want but in our experience, once you go past 6, there's a lot of time between throws and we know the social devils find work for those idle hands, which, unless you're a seasoned pro, can affect the mind's focus and the flow of your delivery.
